Shelly L. Edwards, LCSW
Shelly L. Edwards, LCSW, is Shodair Children’s Hospital’s Director of Social Services. Shelly received her undergraduate degree from the University of Montana and was commissioned in the United States Army Medical Service Corps, where she worked as an administrative officer in Europe, Central America, and the United States.
Shelly received her Master’s degree in social work from Walla Walla University’s Missoula, Montana campus. She completed her graduate internship at the Center for Mental Health in Helena, Montana and continued to work with adults, children and families providing crisis and family-based services before joining the Shodair team.
In 2008, Shelly was licensed as a social worker in the state of Montana. She has been a member of the National Association of Social Workers since 2004, and a member of the Montana Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. Shelly is also a member of the Association of Play Therapy.
Working at Shodair Children’s Hospital since 2007 has allowed Shelly to pursue her areas of interest, which include family systems, mental health continuum of care for children and adolescents, non-directive play therapy, and dual diagnosis treatment. She is particularly interested in outreaching to the broader Montana community about Collaborative Problem Solving.
