Heather J. Zaluski, M.D.
Dr. Heather J. Zaluski joined Shodair Children's Hospital in 2007. She treats the patients on the hospital's Adolescent Unit - South.
A native of Michigan, Dr. Zaluski received her undergraduate degree in international studies from Michigan State University. During her undergraduate years, she spent significant time in Japan, and became fluent in the Japanese language. She went on to earn a Master’s degree in linguistics from Michigan State while teaching Japanese at the University. She then decided to pursue medicine, and obtained her medical degree from Michigan State’s College of Human Medicine in 2002. Dr. Zaluski moved to North Carolina after medical school, and completed the program in psychiatry and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She is board certified in general psychiatry and eligible for board certification in child and adolescent psychiatry.
Dr. Zaluski is particularly interested in treatment of refractory mood disorders in children, as well as residential care of young children. She is pleased to be a part of Shodair’s progressive approach to patient care, which includes Collaborative Problem Solving and pharmacogenetic testing.
